I have two new users on different carriers
both have new plackberrys with vista/office2007/bbdm4.2/scalix connector
the blackberrys are setup on the rim website with their correct email accounts (aka our user@domain which lands on their blackberry)
the problem is ANY mail the touch in outlook shows up twice on the
blackberry.

I've been though the list suggest on RIM's site and delt with both carriers
it seems to be RIMs site sees the imap account and the blackberry uses mapi
...suggestions?

So, do you get double messages when synced with Outlook, or when wandering around wirelessly?

it seems if the user opens the email in outlook it shows up on the blackberry again.

Check or disable your antivirus integration with outlook.

what antivirus and/or other outlook plugins are you currently using?

solved

it was a user / filter setting on RIM's sight "forward if no rules apply"

and I use AVG , it does integrate to Outlook and does not cause any problems
with connector/outlook/bbdm, tested on xp,vista,oxp,o2003,o2007

I've had issues with some versions of AVG and Scalix, where HTML emails was displayed with double line spacings. I tend to not use AVG in conjunction with Scalix Connect at all.

Sorry, I had the same problem and it was my "nod32 antivirus/scalix connector" combination that cause the problem. I need to disable integration, It's not a good thing I known but It solve also other strangeness.

I just found this post while searching for the same problem you mentioned. When you say that the resolution was a user /filter on RIM's site, what do you mean?
I am using Sprint for a carrier. Do I need to tell Sprint that they need to contact RIM?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I now have Funambo working and this is my last issue.

Thanx

Same here, disabling the Nod32 Outlook plug-in solved this issue. It's not the most ideal solution but since all e-mail is scanned via a smtp proxy before it reaches the Scalix server, the risks are acceptable.

Where is this "nod32" located? On the Scalix server or on my laptop? Since it is a plug in it sounds as if it was installed into Outlook when the Scalix connector was installed.

Thanx,

Darrel

After doing some more digging I could not find nod32 anywhere so I stared looking at my AVG s/w. I could not shut off email scanning so i uninstalled AVG and problem has mostly gone away.

When installing AVG you can choose to not install the Outlook plugin. I have had many issues with AVG and Scalix Connect, so I would recommend leaving that out if/when you re-install it.
