When using Scalix connector how can one send e-mail which has sender set to e-mail alias defined for that user?

Let's say users primary e-mail is mail1.domain1.com and it has also defined alias mail2.domain2.com

How can one send e-mail so the recipient sees it was sent from mail2.domain2.com?

The following thread indicates that this can be accomplished viewtopic.php?t=326&highlight=multiple+accounts+sender+address
however even when playing with "--sender" flag I still get the "no delegates permission" error. Even though I'm not trying to send out e-mail on behalf of other user but simply send it out as my own pre-defined e-mail alias.

If user has multiple aliases, how to send mail from the alias address instead of main address?

Does it work to change your outgoing email address to one of the aliases, in your email application?

I had this problem in the past and ended up creating a real account with that address, which then just forwards to the actual address; that way the actual address gets both emails, and I could pick which to send from. Not elegant however.

Using a POP3 or IMAP client you can easily do this. Not possible with Outlook or SWA, unless you use delegation between multiple mailboxes.

I have a small Webserver where I am hosting my private Website and Mails.
As my former Webserver (with Horde-Mail) will go down in 2009-01 and I'm not sattisfied with Horde-Mail - I have installed a new one with Scalix.

Now - after many Problems it is running! Juchu!

But now I have the same problem as the one before:
One User -> Many Aliase.
As this is a KO-Criteria for a Mail-Sollition (I hate Outlook in this way) I wanted to use a good Webaccess Mail System and I thought Scalix would be ?! Am I wrong?

How can I use ONE Mailbox and send with more than one eMail-adress?
Isn't this a standard that should have any Mailprogram?

OKOK -> no more shouting... Can I (we) fix it?

Maybe here a Example so there is no missunderstanding:

I have two Mailboxes -> one for me and one for my brother.
Say my Mailbox is named Claus
I have the following eMail-Addresses (Alias on this Account):
claus@mydomain.de
webmaster@mydomain.de
friends@mydomain.de
claus@mydomain.eu
webmaster@mydomain.eu
friends@mydomain.eu
etc...

I want to send and receive eMails on all of these eMail-Addresses.

The only way to send as different addresses is to use a POP or IMAP client that allows that.
