Well, as others have already mentioned, a "fast fix" seems to be to stop LD, dump the mailbox, delete the user, recreate the user, reload the mailbox, and restart LD.

Depending on the size of the profile (my afflicted user is 4.8 Gigs) this isn't a fast process.

Note that you COULD restart LD before you reload the mailbox.

I also recreate the desktop Outlook profile. Not sure if that's necessary or not.

Hi,

Charon already mentioned my posting http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9070. This sounds kind of related to me. I would be very interested if your calender listview too is declared to be charset us-ascii although containing diacritical characters.

Cheers
Thomas

Kev,

Sorry but what is LD?

Thank you

My Fault.

Local Delivery.

omoff -d0 ld

to restart it

omon ld

While it is down, no mail will be delivered to any user. That way you can be certain that the affected user will not lose anything while their account is being deleted or copied out.

The import will merge with whatever is there already, so you can have delivery running as soon as you have recreated the user. And they can log in. But (obviously) their old email will not arrive until the import is complete.

OK - I see -

Its actually not a user but a resource - so its just set up as a calender. I created the user on the domain so I could set it up as a profile in Outlook to go in and take a look and see if the error popped up when I went in and sure enough it did.

So I can give this a shot and hopefully it fixes up the problem. I will let you know.

Thanks

kanderson

Users and resources are effectively the same thing...

Yeah I figured as much - when I went to create the resource on the domain it treated it as a user when I created the profile - so was the same setup as a user ;p

Hi,

We never had this error until upgrading to 11.2 on both server and connecter. I now get this error on some users when they try and view other appointments in other user's calendars.

Anyone else still getting this?
Thanks.
Andrew.

Hi,

I have raised this through our support channel, but it is getting seen by more users - including me. I opened up a calendar for a resource today, and got the error. When I clicked ok to continue, the calendar appeared as usual, and I couldn't reproduce it by closing and re-opening it, but it is definately happening.

Anyone else getting this on 11.2?
Thanks.
Andrew.

I am seeing it on 11.2 as well, both server and client side. So far it is just one user, but I would like to avoid it becoming a bigger problem. When I run omscan -Avxf -U "user name" , it doesn't show any issues, and I can open the calendar in omcontain, and there doesn't seem to be any corrupt messages. Usually a corrupted mailstore will stop listing items in omcontain around the point of corruption.

FYI,
Kenny

Hi.

I am told by our channel there may be a fix for this in 11.3.

That would be very nice.

I actually deleted the account re-created it and still got the error message - so must be a corrupt item on the calendar.

Here is what I did,

I imported the conference room mailbox onto my test server so I could play around with it. I used omcontain and opened up the Calendar folder.

It had 100+ meetings etc and I deleted them in a block of 10 - opened up Outlook and loaded its profile to see if the error message would come up.

I finally narrowed it down and found the corrupt meeting - deleted it and now no error message.

Tough to do especially if you have say 1000 meetings on a calendar or so, but glad to resolve it.

Hi,

Was everyone getting this error message or just a few users? I am only seeing this strange error with a few users, which is why I am wondering whether it is a data curruption.

I may go into the calendars though and remove old meetings.

Thanks.

Andrew-

This one was a public calendar so everyone who opened the calendar would get this message.

In your case you have user(s) who have a calendar item that is corrupt on their own calendar so it would affect only them and yes I have a few users here that have the same problem.

When I used omcontain I could pinpoint the exact corrupt message.

If you use omcontain I would highly advise using it on a test box and not the production as it can very easily destroy a mailbox.

Thanks
