Problem with Shared calendars & free busy

Postby Rleonard » Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:41 am

Ok, after reeding through the group I have a couple of questions / problems I thought I've throw out here.

1) no one can open a shared calendar unless it's in "public folders"
I have read to take a look at omshowmnmp but it just desplays
[OM 5706] Unable to display mailnode mapping file
what am I scewing something up here?

2) This may very well be a symptom of #1 but I cannot pull free/busy time either in outlook or in SWA for any user.

Per posts Ive read I have went over "top level" deligations and folder specific permisions but to no avail any help would be greatly appreacitated

Backround: Fedora core 4 | Scalix 10

one last note I am ashamed to say... I put up a chezzy Dyndns account for demo which reads ( 1234.selfip.com ) the host name on the mail server box is 1234.selfip.com and i do have a host entry pointing 1234.selfip.com to my local IP ... could something in this configuration be my problem?

I have full access to SWA, SAC & outlook connect except for the two items mentioned above.

Ps. I have also ensured that the proper ports are forwarded..

Thank you for you time
Thank you,

Postby Rleonard » Thu Mar 02, 2006 12:11 pm

Just a little more info when I try to view a shared calendar I get a error message unable to display folder.. then nothing will work... it acts like the connection to the scalix server is dead. from that point on if i try to anythin new I get a error message. and unexplained error occoured. reasons for the failure are unknown. the I have to kill outlook and start over to get it to work again..

Outlook 2k3..

ok, I'm sure this is me but what?
Thank you,

Rob Leonard

Unable to display mailnode mapping file isn't necessarily an error ( although it is factually correct ), it just means that mailnode mapping data is not present.

That can be cleared up by using the command:

Code: Select all

omaddmnmp mailnode fqdn

where mailnode is whatever mailnodes you have configured on the server and are listed in the omshowmn command and the fqdn is the server that those mailnodes are defined on.

Usually, this file is created automatically. I don't see any clues as to why this isn't happening in your case.

Manually adding the mapping gets us past that but you must make sure that your local PC is able to resolve the fqdn of the server correctly for this to work.

Cheers
