outlook error, works fine with SWA [Solved!!!]

Postby criptus » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:00 pm

I've been issuing with strange outlook problem. When I connect to scalix, outlook opens and shows inbox mail list, but doesn't show mail content. When I try to move to another message it says:

Can't open this item. This command is not allowed in this context.

Over SWA user can work normaly.

What could be wrong?

I created this non-working profile on the another machine - same problem, so it means there is something on the server. I restarted entire server - same problem.

The problem occured a week ago, when after 2 months of normal working, notification service went down. I started it again, but the problem persist.

System:
CentOS 5.2.
Scalix 11.4.3
Office 2003

I recreated smartcache, but did not switch it on (outlook).

There is no scalixmail.csv file.

omscan -AU username returns:

Same problem!

This user has to mantain a mailing list which means, that he sends over 2000 mails every week just for this purpose!! Sent mails must not be deleted in order to prove that they were sent. Sent folder has become huge...

set the debug level higher for the scalix-plugin.
sxlogconf.exe or via outlook

And something in the system error log - omshowlog?

If I check sac console, there is no plugins on the plugin list.

I assume there is no need to play with scalix-plugin?

I deleted Outlook profile and created new one with SmartCahe enabled.

Guess what?

It works. IT DOES!!!

Man, you saved my reputation - thank you so much!!!

Should I expect the same issue with other users?

I obviously misunderstood the purpose of SmartCache...
