ol 2007 / connector 11.3 sxlsvr32 error

Postby stephan.klein » Fri Feb 01, 2008 10:44 am

Hi,

initialization of smart cache went fine, everything worked for about two weeks.

Since yesterday, as soon as I start outllok and the scalix synchronisation starts, I get a popup error saying

Code: Select all

Datenbank '' konnte nicht geöffnet werden Entweder wird die Datenbank nicht von Ihrer Anwendung erkannt, oder die Datei ist beschädigt.

The logfile of the connector states

Code: Select all

15:37:31  ================================================================
15:37:31  Starte Synchronisierung: FullSync: Phase1(Posteingang)
15:37:31  ================================================================

15:37:32   25 % Erledigt
15:37:33   50 % Erledigt
15:38:29  Unexpected sync error type 12: ''

Deleting the profile and starting a new sync is not really an option - this is a postbox of about 3,5 GB....

Any help?

Greetings
Stephan

And we keep getting these:
---
10:26:04 ================================================================
10:26:04 Starting Synchronization: Committing cache changes to the Scalix server
10:26:04 ================================================================
10:26:04 Initializing

10:26:04 Searching for conflict candidates
10:26:04 Unexpected sync error type 18: ''

10:26:04 ================================================================
10:26:04 Initializing
10:26:04 Synchronizing the following folder(s):
10:26:04 Searching for conflict candidates
10:26:04 Unexpected sync error type 18: ''
---

Lately the lines above have been followed by these:
---
10:35:33 Unexpected error in DoMaintainCache. Access violation at 7C9106C3:
10:35:33 Bad write on 004283E0
10:35:34 Unexpected error in DoMaintainCache. Access violation at 7C9106C3:

The retry number just keeps on growing and growing, reboot etc. don't help...

Possible work-around?

Postby enielsen » Thu Apr 03, 2008 3:05 pm

I just experienced similar issues with OL2003 and Scalix Connect 11.3.0.77.

Some variables in my situation:

Our wireless router is having trouble keeping connections at times (just read a bugzilla.scalix.com entry that mentioned problems with outgoing emails not sending properly while having a problematic wireless connection. (Something to do with MAPI.)

Second I have SmartCache enabled with the addition of all data being downloaded (instead of just Headers Only.)

I was finally able to rid myself of the problem of not being able to get messages out of my outbox AND getting sync errors ( "Unexpected error in syncmgr: , Type: 23" and then #18 repeatedly). Here is what I did.

First I turned on Headers Only sync (Tools : Scalix Properties : SmartCache Settings... Click on checkbox at bottom of pop-up window for Headers Only). Closed Outlook, and made sure ALL scalix services on my computer were off (even the system service - though I'm not sure if this is necessary.) Then opened up Outlook and soon email arrived, and messages sent out!!

I've now re-enabled the synch of all attachments, etc. (reverse of Headers Only.) - I'll see what happens! Glad I didn't have to re-initalize my entire cache. Sheesh!

Another note...

I should also say - before I did the steps I mentioned in last post - I also plugged into a wired network connection.

I have got this issue with 1 user here too. (the error with '18' in it.)

The symptoms I have, which fit the rest, are that this user has a laptop, and may not be closing down outlook, between leaving the office, using it at home (open port for internet acces via Scalix MAPI), and coming back to the office. In the time its travelling, windows will have no network connection while it finds one (the time to get address via dhcp.) This is similar to being on an unreliable wireless network.

Outbox stays full. To send the mail, I have been shutting down Outlook, and generally receiving an sxlogger.exe shutdown error message from windows. Then I open outlook, go to outbox, reopen each email and click send. This must refresh something, and they generally send. (The last step may be unnecessary, I'm not sure yet).

Same problem here for a user on a laptop do we have a real solution? Our users are basically on the verge of a revolution.

See here too where someone didnt even get a reply viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12332&start=0

I realize it's an inconvenience (to say the least) but you really should reset smartcache. I'd follow this procedure:

Return to “Scalix Connect for MS Outlook”
