Loading multiple mail addresses in to the private contacts

Postby criptus » Tue Apr 14, 2009 11:39 am

What's the most suitable way to load multiple email addresses (mailing list) in to the private or shared contacts?

Could be done with SWA or Outlook, doesn't matter.

At the moment, users copy and paste them from txt file in to the: to, cc, or bcc field. The mailing list is huge, so it takes a lot of time.

Hello,
Outlook and Scalix webmail both allow importing contacts from csv or ldif file.
To convert the text file into a .csf file,You can use the 'Import Text File' option in Excel at

Data -> Import External Data -> Import data .

It then should allow you to specify the different fields. Import it and then save it out as a .CSV file

To use webmail to import contacts, you can follow the link,

http://scalix.org/wiki/index.php?title= ... Fldif_file

To use outlook to import contacts,

Outlook -> files -> import and export -> Import from another program or file -> Comma separated values (windows)
browse to your .csv file and complete the import/export wizard.

Regards,
Guzi
