Scalix Connect

Postby nceballo » Thu Jan 26, 2006 7:19 pm

Thanks in advance for your help! Here is my problem. I can not connect Outlook to the Scalix server unless I put in the internal IP address. I have full control of my DNS servers MX record and Firewall and I have yet to figure out what the problem is. The firewall is completly disabled and I can connect using the internal IP address, but when I type the domain name I can not connect to the server. I wonder what it could be?

If I type the domain name in the web browser I can connect to the SWA without any problems internally or externally. Go figure!

Hi. From outside your network, try typing:

telnet domain.com 5729

Do you get a connection? Or do you get a connection failure? If it's the latter, then it's likely you still have some closed sockets on your firewall.

Also, keep in mind that the current release of Scalix Connect is designed to be used over a high speed network (i.e. LAN speeds). While it will work over a WAN connection, there are known performance issues.

Thanks,
Rachel

That was exactly the problem! The firewall was fine it turned out to be the firewall of the email server itself. It did not occur to me to check the telnet trick. Thanks for your help Rachel an excellent answer to boot.
