I've installed Scalix Community 9.4.2 onto a Fedora Core 4 box.
I have the SSL encryption on for the SAC and SWA. These are working fine.
I am able to send outgoing emails via the SWA. This was accomplished by turning on the SMART_HOST feature of sendmail to send through my existing IP address.
This install is within a LAN and therefore does not have a DNS entry anywhere that points to the server.
Installed the connector that came with the install package onto Win XP machine running Outlook 2000. When I go to setup the new profile, I change the server to it's in-house ip 172.16.1.67, put in my user name and password. Upon pressing Ok, it comes back with the error message "Username, Password, or servername is incorrect". From reading through this site, this means the server can't be contacted. Which also appears true from the lack of logfile activity from within Scalix.
There are no firewalls activated on either machine.
When I port scanned the scalix server, 5729 is open and available. Which was also tested via Telent 172.16.1.67 5729. However, port 5757 doesn't appear, although netstat shows it when I run netstat -uln.
One post mentioned that the user should change 5729 from a TCP port to a UDP port. I don't know if this helped them or not. But I didn't know how to actually change the port from TCP to UDP.
I'm at the end of my wits, if anyone has any ideas of a new place to turn, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
