Trying to open digest with attachments crashes outlook

Postby blackbear » Tue Nov 15, 2005 10:09 pm

I have a digest from a mailing list that I can (slowly) open from Outlook, but when I try to open up any of the individual attachments by double-clicking, outlook immediately crashes with no message at all. Any ideas? I'll be happy to provide the guilty email for analysis.

Hi James,

How large is the message? I'm assuming when you say Outlook, you mean Outlook with Scalix Connect, not Outlook in IMAP or POP mode, is that correct? If so, is your Scalix server and the PC running Outlook on the same high speed network or are you accessing the server over a WAN?

Thanks,
Rachel

Not *that* big

Hard to tell, since I can't save it in one file. Less that a megabyte, probably less that 500K. And yes, it's via the Outlook connector over a high speed cable modem (6Mb/768kB) to my server with a fat pipe.

Hi
I'm getting also an error when I insert printscreens into emails and save them or when I move mails from Input folder to a personal folder.

Hi James,

Hmm... the slowness may be somewhat attributable to bandwidth issues over the cable modem, but definitely not the crashes. Let's start by looking at the message itself. If you could forward a copy to support@scalix.com, I'll take a look at it and see if there's anything odd with it.

Thanks,
Rachel
