Currently Scalix does not provide the ability to allow "send as", where a user has either been granted delegate permissions by another, or where they have multiple email aliases and want to select a specific one for reply.

We do understand a number of customers have this requirement.

I'd like to put a vote in for this feature, too :)

We've just encountered a situation where this functionality would be very useful: allowing certain users, members of an 'outages' mail group, to send mail to customers with the 'from' field being the 'outages' group email address.

This would be possible in the next major release.

You can then setup a mailbox for "Outages", delegate access to the mailbox to the people that require the right to read and reply to the box.

As a standard, mail would be sent as "Sent on Behalf Of Outages from Blahblah".

In addition, the next release will then offer a flag that ca be set on the Outages box that would "hide" the delegate sender for messages leaving through the internet mail gateway, i.e. the message would then appear to be sent from blahbalh, without the on-behalf information.

If testing and QA is successful and they sign off the feature, it will be in our upcoming Q1/2006 release. :-)
