Well, in my opinion, calendar and contacts access is critical for mobile users.
This can be a very basic solution, just displaying it as a folder would suffice.

Hi!
I understand but, the idea was to provide a lightweight web interface that runs in any
browser and provides basic mailbox access from cell phones, PDAs and hotel set-top
boxes.
I have made an enhancement request:

I understand the lightweight goal of the mobile web client. but i can imagine mobile users also using and needing thier calendars. Maybe a solution for this would be an option to email a reminder to yourself about an appointment. I dont know how that would be done or if there would be a way to do it. but its just a thought. it could keep the lightweight goal but still utilize the calendar.
As of right now, my company uses AT&T/Cingulars 8525 and with that comes a product that already connects our Scalix mailboxes to our phones. So i was hoping for some sort of calendar option, mainly to make the boss happy. but no such luck. I hope for some sort of solution in the future...

One alternative right now may be the NotifyLink connector, or the planned Funambol connector. That will allow your calendar to directly populate the phone's internal store.
Also, the mobile client's source code is freely available, so you can modify it to include more folders fairly easily. Maybe even post the modified code here for other Scalix people to use.
