What I want to do:
Relay Scalix email to a residential DSL based service through AT&T where port 25 is blocked and I am forced to use SMTP over SSL on port 465.

What is working:
Scalix is successfully relaying to AT&T.

What is wrong:
I receive an error 530 authentication required

I heard you can use stunnel for smarhosts to port 465 in situations like this... I wanted to know if anyone has had to do this and how they went about doing so, a tutorial would be great!

for help with AT&T residential DSL services, when you have trouble setting up sendmail smarthost authentication...
Also don't forget to log into your AT&T DSL webmail account and add ANY email addresses you wish to send FROM into the list of alternate email addresses used for your residential DSL account... or else you'll get this:
