From and Sender differ in outgoing mail / sendmail rewrite?

Hello,

please excuse my bad english as i am from germany.

I do have 2 useres: info@foo.de and buyer@bar.de. Both are serviced by scalix well!
Now i told scalix that info@foo.de is an proxy person for buyer@bar.de and may handle his mails. This works.

The problem is that an outgoung Mail has : From buyer@bar.de and Sender: info@foo.de im Auftrag von buyer.de.

I need to have that the Sender is equal with the From.
(There are reasons to have more mail addresses...)

As it seems that scalix can not handle this i am asking if anyone knows how to implement this perhaps in sendmail as a rewrite rule. The role should be that the sender and the return-path must always be the From.

I am searching arround since one week and got no idea.
Many thanks
Frank

Did you see this behavior by sending mail to external or internal users? When sending mail externally you should have
From: buyer@bar.de and Sender: buyer@bar.de
The "Im Auftrag von" line only appears when sending to internal (scalix) users.

Hello,

i will check it out...

I think there is also a different behaviour between using SWA and Outlook (connector).

I will post my results.

i see the same behaviour.

a user wants to send mail from a second email adress.

here is what i did:

- create a new user with the new mail address
- make him premium
- add this user as a delegate
- send mail from old user with new user's mail address
then the old user shows up in return path.

There is a Sender Header option in SAC that handles this aspect of delegation. You can experiment with it as well.
