Deleted Items folder being cleaned without OMTIDYALLU

Postby gdzucker » Thu Jan 03, 2008 11:20 am

Hi. I am running Scalix 11.2 CE on a Fedora 7 box. The service, for the most part, works beautifully, but I have some...let's call them less-than-logical...users that are dead set on saving things in their Deleted Items folder. To that end, I have done what I can to keep the folder from being cleaned by: commenting out the OMTIDYALLU function of the ommaint script, excluding this user from tidying, just in case, and ensuring that his Outlook settings don't force any cleaning of the Deleted Items folder either. (He is using a pop connection through Outlook to connect to the Scalix Server). Despite all this, it appears that ALL users' Deleted Items are being cleaned out. Can anyone give me a suggestion on what else to check to fix this problem?

Thanks

Hi

If they are using Outlook then right click on the deleted items folder. Go to the Autodelete tabe and set autodelete to a higher number.

This is normal Outlook behaviour.

I've already checked that setting as well. Thanks for the reply though.

Look in the Scalix Administration Guide on p. 201 for the option UAL_NO_WB_EMPTY - maybe that will do the trick.

I gave that a shot, as well as setting the time to keep items in the wastebasket directly in the user's config file (000002g). I'm hoping the combination of those 2 changes (the UAL tweak and user config) will fix the problem. I'll post if it does indeed solve it.

Thanks
