problems with sac "Invoker is not superuser or an Scali

Postby mamue » Wed Nov 24, 2004 7:10 am

Hi,
I log in to the sac using
sxadmin@sv001.verwaltung
<my pwd>
I see the user sxadmin. In the "extended" tab ("erweitert" in german) the box "full administrative rights" is checked.
However, when I try to add a user I get:
"The add operation could not be startetd, problems with the administration server".
Since I added
PATH=$PATH:/opt/scalix/bin; export PATH
to /usr/share/tomcat/bin/catalina.sh I do not get Exceptions any more but caa.log says:
<ResResponse>
<Command name="omshowrt">
<Status>FAILED:1</Status>
<Output>
<Line value="omshowrt : [OM 8020] Invoker is not superuser or an Scalix administrator"/>
<Line value=""/>
</Output>
</Command>
</ResResponse>

What did I do wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Malte Mueller

This is a permissions problem. Although you have signed on as an administrator, the back-end commands are being executed as the user you started tomcat with.

In this case, you need to start tomcat as root and the commands will execute successfully.

Thanks Dave. I thought that sxadmin is the ldap-manager and that accounts would be created there. Anyway, I just changed the uid/gid of the user tomcat to 0 in /etc/passwd.
It works.

With kind regards
mamue
