SAC showing wrong amount of available storage space

Postby csanburn » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:05 pm

(Running scalix 11.2.0)
I just noticed that there's a difference between the amount of free space that the SAC shows under Server Info / Storage versus what I get with "df -h"....for example:

SAC shows:
Total Message Store Size:3.201 GB of 25.31 GB used
and the right side of the graph bar shows 22.1 GB (free space, I'm assuming)

Yet a "df -h" command shows:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
25G 16G 7.3G 69% /
/dev/sda1 99M 19M 75M 20% /boot
tmpfs 506M 0 506M 0% /dev/shm

I've also got a freshly installed 11.2.0 running under CentOS 5 that shows a difference, although it's much less of a difference. Anyone else noticed this and/or know what's up?

run

"omscan -avfx" and it should fix that up for you.

I generally run it about once a week or month or so. I'll put a noticable load on the server for a little while (longer for a larger mailstore) so run it afterhours.

SAC showing wrong amount of available storage space

That did take a bit of time to run but it doesn't appear to have helped. I've cleaned out some other items so now what I get from "df -h" is:

Size Used Avail Use%
25G 12G 12G 52%

Yet the SAC is showing:

Total Mailbox Size: 3.234 GB
Total Wastebasket Size: 96.833 MB
Total Message Store Size: 3.331 GB of 25.31 GB used

And the graph shows:
3.3GB/13% in red on the left
22GB/8% in green on the right

To me this is saying I have 22 GB of space left for my message store but this is not true. I really on have 12 GB left. It's like the SAC isn't taking into account all the OTHER items on my hard drive that are taking up space. It's assuming that everything not being used by the message store is free space. In my opinion this is misleading but perhaps it was done that way intentionally?
