Sending in the name of a Bulletin Board?

Hi,
I've created a Bulletin Board and added an e-mail address to it, so that users from outside can send send mails to it. I can also see that Bulletin Board in the addressbook. Now I want to send a mail using the bulletin boards address as sender. I used the SWA and added the address to the "From" field of the new mail. Scalix then says that I don't have the rights to send in the name of that user. How can I set that access?

You can only send as a user, not a BB or a PDL. Not sure if this will change in the future, but currently it's not possible.

Well all I'm trying to do is set the sender of a mail to the address that the Bulletin Board uses, so that the replies get to the bulletin board than to the user who send the mail, and that the recepient doesn't see what user send the email. Is there any other way to do this?

You can use an IMAP client (Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc) and specify that email address as the sender address. You can also in SWA set the reply-to address, but I am not sure if this will help you.

Thanks, but that is not really a solution to it. Most of my users will probably think that "pop3" is some kind of pop-music played by 3 persons, rather than it has something to do with e-mail. Configuring a new client for them and telling that they should use this one if they want to send as "the company" will never work.
Well then, let's hope something like this will be integrated in the next version.

I am not sure if anything like that will be implemented, I have not heard anything (yet). I would suggest you open an enhancement request in
http://bugzilla.scalix.com and see how the developers rate this.

Without looking at it too deeply, I am sure you should be able to set something up using a request script.
Something like sending a mail to the request server, and have that fire off an smtp connection, piping the original message into something like sendmail with a "from" address of the BB.
I don't have a system here to test with, so you may have to play.

Hi,
i have a similar problem. My Customer wants to send in the name of the Bulletin Board (Support Team) and nobody should know the name of the person who send the email.
Outlook support this feature but it includes an extra text in the header => "PersonName in behalf of BulletinBoardName" and this should not be shown for the recipient.
Anyone an idea how this problem could be fixed?[/i]
