Proxy Servers

Can anyone suggest a proxy server/installation that works well with scalix and is easily integrated?
I haven't decided to get an appliance to do this, or go with an open-source solution.
As I understand it, Scalix doesn't have a proxy component that would sit on a separate box. Am I incorrect?

Ok, I see now that there's details on how to set a webmail server/proxy in the manual. That's half of what I had in mind. Does anyone use a separate mail proxy to scan emails for viruses and to weed out spam?
Thanks in advance...

yes we use EVSA a vmware based appliance. it's free and seems to work quite reliably.

we front end our scalix system with this running on a public IP address and our scalix system is on a private IP address behind our firewall.

I use a debian server with Postfix/Spamassassin/Amavis/ClamAV as mail proxy.
