Mailing lists on Scalix?

Postby gordonm » Fri Nov 19, 2004 4:13 am

We have a need to host public mailing lists, and in migrating to Scalix I'm wondering how we can handle lists consisting of both Scalix addresses and a bunch of other email addresses from partner companies. The lists are static; we don't need subscriber functionality but I don't see a way to create distribution lists with non-Scalix users, at least with the SAC interface. Is there a way to do this?

The SAC interface will allow you to add the addresses to a group (mailing list) provided that it already exists in the directory.

This means that you need to create a user but select "Internet Mail User" when prompted via the Create User wizard.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Another question then: do these 'internet mail' users count against the number of seats we purchase or are only 'Scalix' users counted for licensing purposes?

Only Scalix mailboxes count towards licensing.
