Help...Scalix is constantly disabling SMTP relay

Postby jrb » Fri Oct 12, 2007 12:53 pm

Help.....SMTP Relay is shutting down every few days.

Granted I am somewhat new to this system, but finding a way to communicate with scalix personally or info on how to file a trouble ticket is seemingly hard to find.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Since I installed Scalix version 11.2, once or twice per day the SMTPD Relay is going down.
We use Scalix from version 11.0.0 and to this version we had not problems with stability.
If SMTPD is working in system I have four omsmtpd processes: SMTP, MAPSMTP, LMTP and SUBMIT.
But when the SMTPD Relay is down, the “omsmtpd: SMTPâ€

We're noticing it when ommaint does routine maintenance:

Code: Select all

The following text is the output from omshowlog -s SMTP Relay -l 99 [OM 4884] omshowlog : No logged records match the specified criteria End of output from omshowlog

Just had one of my customers report the same thing. Very strange, still trying to find the root cause, though.

Dear Scalix.
The problem is with SMTP error 553 5.1.8.
When fetchmail fetch message from non-exist domain, it reports this error and subsequently SMTP process of Scalix falls down.

Can I finally get some answer from you, Scalix?

Mine was to do with SMTP debugging not working correctly under certain conditions, so not the same as your problem. Found some issues in the 11.1.0 SMTP relay under high load, but not under 11.2.0, so it's not related to that, I believe.

To contact Scalix directly, send an email to support - at - scalix - dot - com, I find they help quickly.
