do deligates work on the community version?

Postby peteb » Tue Nov 29, 2005 9:45 am

I'm experimenting with deligates on the community version.

All the options seem to work, but whenever I try to open a mailbox I get a 'The information store could not be opened' error.

If both your users are Enterprise users, delegates will work.

If you were able to set up delegate access, it would indicate that both of them are.

If you run the command

Code: Select all

omshowmnmp

on the server, you will see a mapping between the mailnode and the server name.
If that server name cannot be resolved on the client side, you need to fix up DNS or add an entry to the \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file.
What usually happens is that people set up the ability to resolve the hostname but not the fully-qualified server name.

Cheers

Hi,

I had problems getting delegation to work also.

1 - I made sure i could ping the FQDN from the client machine.
2 - I set the proper permissions, delegates etc, but it kept coming back with "unable to open folder".

The only way I could get it to work (purely by chance!) was by going into the Add-Ins in outlook, removing the "Delegates" add-in, then reinstalling the connector using setup.exe, and selecting repair. I couldn't figure out where the "add-in" files for the scalix connector were.

My 2 cents worth from a noob.

Regards,

Nader.
