Subfolders not visible after sxmboximp restore

We just switched to Scalix from Exchange, and everything is working very well. I wanted to create a backup script using sxmboxexp to backup each users mail. I tested it out by exporting my mail and then importing it into a test user. I have a tree of folders, and only the parent folders appear in webmail and in Thunderbird. The size of the test user's mail is the same as mine, and using sxmboxlist shows all of the subfolders. So why are they not appearing in any email client? Thanks for any help.

Do the names of the folders have a '/' in them? If so, they won't show up in an IMAP connection.

There are configuration options that might get you around that though.

Thanks for the reply. The folders themselves do not have a '/' in them. When I use sxmboxlist they show a '/' as in:
Parent_Folder/Sub_Folder

However, so does the original mailbox (the one used for the backup).

In your example, the slash is just the path separator. That's fine.

Could you post the exact commands you used to export and import?

Hi ks,

Don't forget that if you use sxmboximp to import the contents of an individual folder (-f or --folder) then you must use the -s or --subfolder option if you also want sub-folders of that folder to be restored.

Cheers - Richard

Richard: I did not use -f or --folder. I did a complete export. I believe the mail is being restored completely (because the total size is correct), but it is not showing in any client.

Derek:
Here are the commands I used.
sxmboxexp --u "User Name" -a ./test.mbox
sxmboximp -a ./test.mbox -u "Test User"

Solution:

Do not log in with a user who is having mail imported with sxmboximp! Before I was logging in while importing. I tried staying out until the import was complete and the folder structure appears correctly in the client email program now. Just to confirm that this was causing the problem I logged into a new user while I was trying to import their mail, and the structure again did not show up in the client email program correctly.

Thanks for everyone's help. I guess I should have known not to log into a user while their mail is being imported!
