This morning we've just started having problems with Thunderbird over imap. Some of our users cannot open messages with attachments. Thunderbird just sits at 'downloading message'. Selecting a different message prompts Thunderbird to log in again and resync new message headers which makes me think that it's losing the connection to the imap server.

I can access those messages from my copy of Thunderbird. I can access those messages from webmail. I've restarted scalix. I've upgraded to Thunderbird 2 same as mine which is known to work.

Can anyone please suggest as to how I debug this? I'm not very familiar with the internals of Scalix. thanks

I've found the problem with this now. I'll open a more specific post now I know what I'm looking for.
