All,
I have a user's mbox and need to restore the email to Outlook through a PST. The user does not have an account anymore as it was deleted.
Is there any way to get the mbox to a .PST file? This would be a big help -
Thank you

The native email format of Netscape is mbox.
If you download and install netscape (7.2 or 8,1) and configure messenger as a Scalix IMAP client (for any user), you can just open the mbox as a local mailbox. From there you can copy the emails in the mbox format to the scalix server. No need to bother with outlook.
But if you insist on having a pst file, just use outlook or outlook express to import emails from netscape. You can them export pst.

Hi Jaime,
I would rather have a .PST so I can burn it to a CD and send it off to the user - since he is not here anymore, but will need his old emails.
My question is - how do I get the emails from the mbox imported into netscape?
I installed 7.2 - went to import and it asked me what program I would like to import from. It does not let me choose the actual .mbox file.
What is the best way I can import them in netscape then use outlook to import from netscape?
Thanks!

Here are the steps I took:
I made an IMAP account and put the mbox file into:
c:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\y6d17pc.slt\Mail\Local Folders
I then open up Netscape mail and I see the name of the mbox listed as a folder.
There are 60 emails that have some headers and no text. The big problem is that this mailbox is 573MB w/ a lot in the inbox with a ton of subfolders.
I am doing this on a windows machine - should I be doing this in Linux instead? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
EDIT: I tried this in Linux and the same thing happened..
