omnewdir -d RESOURCES -t s
#2. `Add resources to this Directory, using the -x option, such that they are not added to the SYSTEM Directory:
omaddu -n "Cyrax/uk,hq/CN=Cyrax" -p *********** -x
Unfortunately I dont know how interpret #3, can anyone assist?

Hi,

Simply enter:

omsearch –d FREEBUSY –e “S=Cyrax” –m @x400-attr@|omaddent –d
RESOURCES –f –

Note the extra "–" at the end of the command.

Then, just follow the rest of the steps.

Let me know if you have any problems.

#5 States "Modify each users c:\winnt\scalix\mapi.cfg file so that they can see the additional Scalix Directory, by adding the following:

Code: Select all

[Directories]
1=RESOURCES

Unfortunately I am unable to locate this file on the users system, either at c:\winnt\scalix\ or by doing a system search for
Please advise.

The document assumes (probably incorrectly) that you have a mapi.cfg on your system.

You can create one (via Notepad) and just add the

[Directories]
1=RESOURCES

to the file. You should also put the file in (this will sound silly):

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Scalix\Scalix\MAPI\Profiles\user\scalix

Let me know if this works...

Matthew,
thankyou...the Cyrax resource now works.

If I wanted to create resources for access by different departments how would I achieve this? At present the Cyrax resource can be seen everyone. Would the simplest way be to create multiple shared directories eg
Survey
Engineering
Cyrax
Geo ..etc
create the shared resource and assign to the appropriate shared directory above and then use the mapi.cfg to effectively hide all the other directories for each dept?

Hope this makes sense.

Best Regards,

Hi Matthew.

Is there a location on the server where we can locate the MAPI.cfg file so that it is automatically downloaded when clients connect to the Scalix server?

I thought the answer to this was yes, but I can't remember where it went...

Thanks
Kev.
