Cannot Log into webmail for user

I cannot log into webmail for user and get this from the logs:

[OM 24070] Debug message for Lab use :
imapual_getFolderTree: Could not open cache file "/var/opt/scalix/rl/s/user/g00004h/imap-cache/USER_FOLDER", errno: Permission denied
User Name: Bob Smith / rhel-sv-mail/CN=Bob Smith

Through troubleshooting and fat fingering, the users cache folder had gotten deleted, but was recreated manually. Permissions have been verified as matching other imap-cache folders and I have already run omscan and omcheck... no errors were found and we still cannot log in for this user.

The initial troubleshooting started because this user had a 'ghost' rule... no rules showed in Outlook, but in webmail there was a rule showing that supposedly existed from Outlook. SXAA also showed no rules.

Red Hat Linux 4, Scalix 11.0.4

Just a long shot, have you tried restarting the imap service?

I'd close all imap connections for all users, kill any that are orphaned, then omoff -d0 -w imap, then omon imap

I have not tried that, but I will shortly. I will post back with results either way. Thanks for the tip :)

Ok... here is how i resolved it....

1. deleted the imap-cache folder alltogether

2. stopped then started imap server

restart the IMAP server with omoff -d0 -w imap then omon imap

3. Logged in via webmail

This solved both the ghost rule problem (the intial problem we were troubleshooting) and the resultant problem of not being able to log in.

Thanks for your help! Your ideas and a previous post of yours helped resolve it

I would then export the users mail, delete them , recreate them, import the mail.

Might be the easiest way.
