Just want to know if there is any mailbox size limit (both system wide and individual). Since some of my clients what to upgrade from their exist Exchange server (have 16GB mail store size limit) to Scalix in order to get more mail storage space, I want to have an idea on the practical storage limit (if any) to make sure if it's a right way to go.

Hi!

The mailbox size limit for a user could be set in SAC, in user property screen, under "Mail"
tab choose "Enter Limit" from the drop down for "Maximum mailbox size".

Thanks,
Subir

Thanks for your reply, however, I think I need to make my question more clear.

Some of my client are now using Exchange 2000, which has a big limitation that the total mail store size is restricted to 16GB. This limitation made them mad as the email in server always reach that limited and go offline (and need a day to shrunk the mail store). To overcome this limitation, they have 2 ways to go, either upgrade their Exchange (either to latest version or to Enterprise edition) or to find a Exchange replacement (Scalix should be a good choice IMHO). However, before doing that, I need to make sure if Scalix can provide a much larger storage for their email (or even unlimit storage in software level, like Exchange Enterprise), for example, 10GB for individual user and over 200GB total storage for the whole system. I've search for it but can't get the answer. Can anyone share their experience here for ther implementation?

Thanks for your help.

There is no limitation on the overall mail store.

The only limit is the amount of storage space you have.. My mailstore currently is around 350 GB.. and it's still growing.. we don't have any limit on the users mailboxes. Largest mailbox will be around the 12 GB I think. Runs great :)
