INET_AUTO_GEN_DOMAIN

Hello,

Does anyone know what the variable INET_AUTO_GEN_DOMAIN=[ourdomain.com] does in Scalix general.cfg? Currently we have our old domain value set in that (which was done by a previous server admin so I have no clue why).

What does this value control and if it is changed does activating the new setting require restart of Scalix services? Scalix version is 11.0.3 (11.0.4 tomorrow :).

Best regards,
Kimmo

Hi Kimmo!

The value of INET_AUTO_GEN_DOMAIN is the system domain name. This domain is used as
part of the authentication ID as well as email address generation if none is specified in the
rules.

Hi,

OK - so this only affects for the creation of new users, e.g. if I uncomment it out (it has the wrong - old - domain name anyway) it should not affect the running of the server itself at all? (just a paranoid check :)

Thanks,
Kimmo

Kimmo,

The value specified for INET_AUTO_GEN_DOMAIN would be used for AuthID and email
addresses generation, if no value is specified in the email/authID generation rules. To know
the address creation rules, use the command sxconfig, check its man pages for details.

I hope the information helps.

Thanks,
