receiving mail for my domain

Postby mardek01 » Wed Sep 22, 2004 6:46 am

Hi all,

I installed scalix server succesfully. But I am not quit familiar with setting up a mailserver so before I am going to change config files i would be happy if someone can help me with the following.

I have my own domainname, lets say domainx.com. I have a dsl connection that connect my network with the internet with a router. I am using NAT in my private network. I installed scalix on a server with the hostname pc-00019.domainx.com.

Thus it is configured to receive and send mail for mailadresses like user@pc-00019.domainx.com. But i want to use mailadresses like user@domainx.com.

I guess this is called mailrelay but i just don't know how to get it configured. I have red the admin guide but I am to unexperienced to understand the exact procedure to follow.

Can anyone give me some direction on how to solve this problem.

Addressing

Postby ScalixSupport » Wed Sep 22, 2004 8:30 pm

Hi,

The following command will create the (internet) addressing you want:

ommodiam -m "<server,domain>" -D "domain.net"

This will create an address of user@domain.net for all users you create after executing this command. For existing users, you can modify the IA individually using the ommodu command.
