Corrupt Message

Where just starting to roll out the Outlook connector and resolving issues. Today I have a user that was added to the connecter all of the sudden he cant email me and I am running the Outlook connector I log into the SAC and see that the CDA Server has died with the following error. I restarted the server because I could not get the service to restart. Now all services and servers are up and ok but the same user cannot email me. All of the users mail is sent to the Corrupt message folder. I have had him sent test mail to other domain accounts internal and external and they all arrive ok just not to my local domain account.

Any thoughts on this?

Can you flush mail out of the Corrupt Message Q

Hi!

In SAC, when you click on queue named Corrupt Message, do you see any message
listed in the display box. If yes, select them and delete these messages.

Does omshowlog report any error after the Scalix Server has been restarted.

Thanks,
Subir

The queue did have messages I deleted them
I also did this

omoff -d 0 -w cda
omreset -o off cda
deleted the lockfile found at /var/opt/scalix/ns/s/sys/omcda.lock
omon cda

After a lot more testing I narrowed the issue to an imbedded picture in his signature. However I am still stumped as the user was able to email me prior to the CDA server crash. And interesting enough he could still email others using the Outlook connecter. After removing the pic mail gets to me fine

The log shows several of these types of messages

Hi!

Can you run omtidyu -M -u username[/mailnode], for the user who uses the client machine,
and see if that helps, also check if there are messages in error queue using the command
"omstat -q error".

Thanks,
Subir

I ran the omtidyu -M -u username[/mailnode] command on my login and the system having issues getting mail to me.

I got this output and I am not sure what this means or what it recovered.
Scalix Recovered Items: 2198 items

This did not resolve the issue. When the user sends mail to me with an attachment I get the following error in the log. And the message is now in the Corrupt Message Q interestingly enough if that same message is sent to other myself and otherclients not using the outlook connecter they do get the message but I don’t.

I am experiencing the same issue with Scalix 10 and the Outlook Connector. This is most notable for whatever reason on Excel (.xls) attachments. Maybe that is just a coincidence.

I have not found a solution this issue is killing me! It’s worse than all the other minor annoyances. If you browse around you will find several people having this issue.

I just rebooted the server and I literally have hundreds of these errors. What can I do? It seams to me that its all mime_cache related.

Hi Tracks!

Sorry for the lag time, I would suggest you to do two things, restart the MIME browser process and pre-generate MIME.

Restart the MIME browser process using the commands:

Code: Select all

omoff -wd 0 mbc
omon mbc

To pre-generate MIME, run the command:
omtidyallu -M

This should resolve things.

Thanks,
Subir

Hi!

Lets try to create new index, using the steps below:
1. shut down the scalix server
2. remove all the files in ~/indexwork (/var/opt/scalix/??/s/indexwork)
3. restart the server
4. run sxmkindex, sxmkindex -r 0

I feel this should help you.

Thanks,

Subir,

Should this solution be attempted with Scalix 10 as well, or is this specific to Scalix 11? I still have 3 users (out of approx 225) that are persistently having issues with this when sending attachments to specific people.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
