Problems with sending Mails

Hello,

my Scalix installation works fine. The onlyest problem is that since yesturday the server is not longer sending emails to other hosts/domains. Messages inside the system are working correctly. Where can i find the logfiles for the smtp server?

I have a debian system and used the follwing insallation guid:

in /var/log/mail/mail.info there is no problem reported. If i look at the logfiles of other Servers/domains there is no connection to scalix reported. If i log into the admin-panel of scalix i can see the messages waiting for sending out at "Internet Mail Gateway" in Server Information. Even messages from yesturday are waiting.

Has anyone an idea? Which file output do you need for helping me?

Make sure you can actually get out on the internet with that box,
Make sure you can telnet to another mail server on port 25 with that box
Restart the Inernet/unix gateway omoff -d 0 -w unix, wait til it stops, then do a omon unix

Hi,

i have a connection to the internet and can establish a ping to heise.de
if i telnet another domain with port 25 i get the welcome message and can type in data
restarting the unix gateway like you described hasn't helped any more. The messages are waitingfor sending out.

I don't get any error messages from the server that the messages couldn't be delivered. Is that ok?normally i should get a message with an info? shouln't i?

I hope someone can help me finding the problem.

I have the same problem. The scalix server will work reliably for days / weeks / months, and then suddenly stop sending messages outside the domain. They are all neatly queued up, and get sent almost instantly if I reboot the server. If I do not reboot the server, they will continue to build up forever.

Very interested in this thread -- hopefully someone knows what is amiss.

Hi,

i have rebooted my system, but nothing helps. If i go into the scalix-admin Interface and lookinto the internet Mail gateway Queue there are listed 4 messages, but in real there seem to be 5 messages waiting. How can i delete all outgoing messages, including the one that is not listet?

Hi,

my server is running now. But i don't know what i did for reaching that.
First i got it working that the message was deleted. Then the Remote client Interface didn't work. Then i resetted all services. Now it works. I try to find out what has deleted the message
