Blackberry Problem

When sending emails to Blackberry, only the "plain text" format can go through, "HTML" sometimes will be rejected.
Is there any way in Scalix 10.5 to force the email always use "plain text" format?
Thanks,
Jian

What I've done is set up Sendmail so that mail going to the *blackberry.net goes through mimedefang first. Note that this will not resolve problems where there is an HTML signature as noted in this bug...

That bug is targeting a May release.

If I apply your bug fix in the May after you release it, Do I still need to make sendmail first go through mimedefang, Or Scalix will work BY DEFAULT with Blackberry for the format of "HTML" or "Multipart", as well as "plain text"?
Thanks,

Scalix will attempt to send mail out in the best possible format available for a domain. This will mean that it will never send mail out as plain text if you create it as HTML. Scalix will send out multipart, which includes both HTML and Text. At least in January, when I checked with RIM, there was an issue with correctly parsing the plain text, and they had problems displaying some messages. My guess would be that this is actually the bug you are now seeing.
The fastest solution is to set the client up using version 1 of their webclient, but it's pretty hard to convince your provider to revert a user back to the old one like that, as every provider I've seen has mandated all new connections to be on version 2. If you have enough BBs, you could likely convince your provider, but if you only have a few, then chances are, they will not do it for you.
Since BBs can ONLY display Text, I don't think there's anything to lose in sending the message via mimedefang. The only issue will be time spent setting it up.
