Hi,

by mistake two users configured a loop between there mailboxes using sxaa --redirect.

We stop it after a day. Now where are the Mails gone. Is there a "badmail" folder anywhere?

Thanks in advance
ew

Hi!

Did you remove the rules created by sxaa completely or have you just disabled them? The
rule apply only to the incoming mails, they do not effect mail(s) that are already existing in
the mailbox.

To list the mails for a user in the InTray, use the command omlist, see if you are able to list
messages in there InTray/Inbox.

Thanks,
Subir

Hi,

thanks for the quick answer! :!:

Yes i removed the wrong rule completly.

The missing Mails which were in the loop are neither in the inbox of user 1 nor in the inbox from user 2.

Also all queues are empty!

I really don't know where the missing mail are gone. Where can i look about notifications about this issue?

Thanks
ew

Hi!

Mails which were in the loop

You mean mails that were sent but not delivered, check the /var/log/maillog.

Where can i look about notifications about this issue?

Could not get you

Thanks,

Hi,

sorry for that bad english :( .

I will try to explane it a little bit better.

Let us assume that there are two users adam and eva.

Adam create a rule that redirect all incomming mails to eva. Eva do so too. Now Mails adressed to adam will redirect to eva an then back again and so on.

It lasts about one day until we get knowlege about that issue. During the term Mails are in the loop.

In /var/log/mail there is only the Messages from the first delivery:

Code: Select all

Mar 20 06:19:55 scalix sendmail[5491]: l2K5JtVh005485: to=<adam@domain.de>, delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=scalix_mime, pri=121951, relay=scalix
, dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (Ok)

nothing else about that mail.

Are there any other logs where i can see what happens with the mail?

Could you get it now

Thanks.

Hi!

I think after certain trials of delivery, mail gets rejected. Not sure would consult and let
you know.
