Restore Deleted User

We are using OpenLDAP and Scalix 11.0.2. I acidentally deleted a user from ldap and ran omldapsync. Now the user is completely gone from scalix. Is there another way I can restore this one user from my backup rather than installing scalix on another machine and restoring the backup to there? We have done it this way in the past but I wasn't sure if there was another way to do this in version 11. Thanks.

If you can see the user listed when you type "omshowu -m all" then he's still there. If not, you'll need to restore.

Sorry.

But is there a way for me to restore that users mail into my working scalix server or do I need to restore it into another test machine running scalix and then copy that users file into the live machine?

Your easiest solution will be to recover the entire mailstore, and use sxmboxexp to dump that user's data, and then sxmboximp to reimport it again.

See page 100 of the admin guide (11.0.2 version).

We're going to restore the entire /var/opt/scalix into another linux server, sxmboxexp and sxmboximp.
I there a way to do it without installing Scalix in that new server?
Can we just copy sxmboxexp + libraries? or do we need the whole scalix installed in that new one?

I'd install everything, personally. You don't need to install anything except the server. So webclient config and stuff can all be ignored. It's very fast.
