Error report - Routing Loop detected during delivery

Hello - Versions as follows...

Scalix Server 11.0.1.11
Outlook Connect 11.0.1.22

We have some users that have redirect with copy rules set up in sxaa to forward emails to their blackberrys. When internal users using Outlook attempt to send emails to the users with blackberry forwards, they get occasional bounce messages, as follows:

----------------------------- ERROR REPORT ----------------------------- Message could not be delivered to the following recipient:

xxx/ internet/CN=xxx
DDT1=RFC-822; DDV1=xxx@rogers.blackberry.net;

because: 'Routing Loop detected during delivery' [OM 9201]
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The audit log only shows the message delivery, and then the ndr delivery. Fatal logs show nothing.

The message gets delivered to the local mailbox, but does not get forwarded to the blackberry account.

Of note - I have only seen this happen on internal emails and only from clients using Outlook - both 10.x connectors and 11.x connectors. These errors only started occuring after the upgrade from 10 to 11.

Any ideas?

What's the sxaa command you used?

Does this affect all messages, or just a few? Of the few that are affected, are they legitimate mail?

Something like ....

./sxaa --user trevor --redirect trevor@rogers.blackberry.net --retain --header %X-Spam-Flag: YES% --not

I would say a few, but some users say up to 90% of messages sent to users with blackberry forwards get a bounce. All are legitimate mail - there are no virus/spam filters on the scalix server.

I also have verified that this does not occur at all with the web client - only Outlook.

Any more thoughts?

So SENDING mail from Outlook causes bounces when the local recipient has the SXAA rule in place?

Is it possible that there is more than 1 rule effective for the user at a given time and that it's invalid?

sxaa --user <authid>

I know I got burnt by the difference between the --delete and the --remove commands initially.

Yes, only sending from Outlook clients to people with the forwarding rule results in the bounce. Sending the same message, to the same users from the scalix web client does not result in a bounce.

There is no duplication of the forwarding rules.

What's in the sendmail log? /var/log/mail.info or /var/log/maillog? Do you see that message?

Whoops - that's one log I don't think I looked at.

It appears that there is no entry in the mail logs for when that bounce message occurs which would make sense as the message doesn't appear to get forwarded at all to the blackberry. This makes sense given that it is a scalix error returning - the message never makes it to sendmail.
