RHEL 5 supported?

Postby pgienger » Fri Mar 16, 2007 3:59 pm

I was just about to start on a long awaited installation when wouldn't you know that RedHat decided to rev their OS. Is RHEL5 supported, tested, rumored to work or not advised? The last thing I want to do is build on the previous version for a system that is going to be in place for quite some time.

Thanks in advance

I'd feel quite comfortable building on RHEL4. It will still be supported for a very long time, and perhaps more importantly, it's well known. I don't advise adopting RHEL5 for the same reason I don't advise Vista.
