Smtp Problem

Hi,

i have the following problem:

I want all emails being sent by my internet domain smtp. So i think what i have learned so far is that linux.mc (in my suse box /etc/mail/linux.mc) has to be modified and used to generate
sendmail.cf (m4 /etc/mail/linux.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf) cause scalix sends the mails through sendmail.

When i now try to send mail via the webmailer (ScalixBox: http://192.168.0.200/webmail)
one could think the mail is sent, cause it is in the sent objects folder) But there is no mail in the recipient inbox.

Please where to check what actually happens so i can get a clue of what is going wrong. What logfiles to check?

How can i trace the problem ?

Thanks for your help.

is the message getting to (waiting for) sendmail?

/var/log/maillog (or mail.info) will be the sendmail log.

"mailq" will show the contents of the outbound email queue.

This is the output of mail.info after the mail is sent via webmail and now showing up in sent email folder in the webmailer.

Mar 24 17:20:26 mastermind sendmail[3145]: starting daemon (8.13.6): queueing@00:30:00
Mar 24 17:22:08 mastermind sendmail-client[5371]: starting daemon (8.13.6): persistent-queueing@00:01:00

Sendmail doesnt even get the mails from scalix am i right? What to do next? Where to check what is happening?

Thank you so much for your help

Mar 24 19:11:04 mastermind sendmail-client[6396]: l2OHhn11005865: to=<test@consolex.de>, delay=00:27:15, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=2641046, relay=[127.0.0.1], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by [127.0.0.1]

Why does localhost refuse the connection? Is sendmail refusing to accept the mails it gets from scalix smtp?

What to do please?
