Mails over another Server

Postby k4ci » Mon Mar 05, 2007 5:46 am

Is it possible to use a ScalixServer to collect and send Mails over another Emailserver at an EmailProvider like GMX etc.

If I understand what you want, I think Fetchmail will do the job well for you. This will allow you to pull email from another server and deliver them into a Scalix mailbox.

For sending, you could use a smarthost so that all outbound mail will go through a particular server.

Does that meet your needs?

Kev.

Which distribution are you on?

If it is SLES, it may be linux.mc, and the resulting sendmail.cf may need to go into /etc

The important parameter is this one:

define(`SMART_HOST', mailto.provider.com)dnl

Or, you can edit your sendmail,cf and change the DS parameter. It should read

DS

change it to

DSmailto.provider.com

Restart sendmail and you should be good to go.
