mime browser crash

Hi,

when opening an IMAP folder (I am not sure, if this is the real cause for this error), I sometimes get

omstat -a shows 'Mime Browser Controller' Aborted'

I have to restart scalix (omshut) to get the mime browser back working. When mime browser is gone, mails can't be opened, neither by webmail nor by thunderbird.

Any help welcome..

Hi!

Can you run the command "omtidyallu -M" for MIME pre-generation, this command might
take some time, please run this command at low load time.

Does the Mime Browser Controller aborts quite often?

Hi Subir,

the mime browser crashed while I was migrating mails from an old imap server to the new scalix machine using imapsync.

I did an omscan to the related useraccount und deleted the mime cache of the user affected as mentioned in another thread.

In regular operation (without syncing masses of emails), the crash did not happen again.

I will try your suggestion tonight and tell, if anything wents wrong again.

'till today, no more crashing of the mime browser on my box (latest Scalix on debian).

But yesterday and today it happened again two times with the following log entries in fatal:

An 'omon mime' did the trick to restart the service, but it makes me a little bit nervous not to know why the service is crashing and how I can solve this issue permanently.

As suggested by Subir I ran 'omtidyallu -M' after the first crash, but this could not avoid the second crash.

Any help is welcome ,-)

Hi!

Seems 1-2 messages have corrupted and they are causing the trouble, if you run omstat -d,
this would list the messages in the deferred message queue directory. This lists both
messages that have been deferred by a user when the message is mailed, and messages
that are deferred as a result of route deferral action by the Service Router.

Try to re-submit the messages by using the command omresub -d msg_ref, msg_ref you
would get from the result of omstat -d.
