Some one can tell me how to add a new email address to a existing group by a command line?

Thanks

Hi!

To modify the internet address for the group, you should use the command ommodpdl.

An example is shown below:
[root@subir-rhel4 ~]# omshowpdl -l "For Test"
Dist List Name : For Test/CN=For Test
MailNode : subir-rhel4, scalix
Internet Address : new-test@subir-rhel4.scalix.co.in
[root@subir-rhel4 ~]#

The command I used to modify the address for the PDL shown above was:

Code: Select all

ommodpdl -o "For Test/subir-rhel4,scalix" -l "For Test/subir-rhel4,scalix/IA=test@subir-rhel4.scalix.co.in" -p pass

So the new result for the group would be:
[root@subir-rhel4 ~]# omshowpdl -l "For Test"
Dist List Name : For Test/CN=For Test
MailNode : subir-rhel4, scalix
Internet Address : test@subir-rhel4.scalix.co.in
[root@subir-rhel4 ~]#

I am sure this should help you.

Thanks,
Subir

I think the command you're looking for is ommodpdln. This allows you to add new people to a group. Personally, I'd use SAC.

On the other hand, maybe the group membership is fine, and you want to add a second email address that goes to the same group. This would be done with ommodent.

Both have good man pages, and should be OK at describing what you're after.

to list more than 1 email, you can use an = sign to string them together, so

"IA=<email1@domain.com>=<email2@domain.com>=<email3@domain.com>"

As an example. Note that if using this command for users, the first listed email address will be the primary.

Kev.
