SMTP-Server deletes spaces on input

Postby Axel » Tue Feb 27, 2007 4:33 am

Please see http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6307 for further informations.

We have to send textfiles which must have a fixed (special) size. The file contains a lot of spaces to hit that size.
If I send a textfile (as attachment) "123456789***********" (*=SPACE) all spaces are stripped during transfer and I get an attachment "123456789".

How can I stop this behaviour?

Can you zip the attachment?

No, I am sorry. The file format and size is given by the health insurance company, and it is created and sent automaticly. BTW: all other attachments (binary or not) work fine.

The behaviour of Scalix 11.0.1 is reproducible. If you sent a text-file attachment like "123456*******" (*=Space) the tailing spaces are cut off. A text-file attachment like this "123456*****7" will not be changed. Our old SC server doesn't do that. I played a little with the mime.types and mimeout.str but without result.

Does using the v10 client work? If you don't have a copy and need to DL it, PM me, and I'll post it somwehere for you.

In the mean time, I'll enter it into bugzilla.

We do not use the MAPI-Clients. Just POP/IMAP/'SMTP with.

Thank you for your assistance.
