Bringing scalix back up after fs repair

For reasons I've yet to determine a Scalix 10.0.5 server I admin seems to have suffered an abrupt power disconnection despite being UPS connected (the site has suffered several previous power outages but on each occasion apcupsd has shut the box down cleanly).

Anyway, I had to resort to an e2fsck -y to repair the Scalix data LVM partition, which I'm now backing up in anticipation of a possible restore from Friday's tape - any other precautions recommended before I bring the Scalix services back up?

Cheers!

can you block smtp traffic while you test that all is OK? It would be easier to restore if there wasn't anything new coming in that you'd need to deal with later. Though I suppose you'll still have the data from between the backup and the power outage...

None that I could think of. I have a customer without a UPS that frequently shuts down his Scalix server uncleanly. I just do a full e2fsck every time (usually get a lot of orphan inodes), then start up Scalix. So far I've had no data loss, but I wouldn't count on that forever.

I would suggest running a complete active omscan after you bring it online and check the results. Otherwise I would switch it on and see what happens.

And btw, early signs are that everything's peachy.
