Hi there,
I'm running Scalix Community 11.0.1 on RHEL 4.0. If I run ommon -u I get the following error messages:

Can you try to clear out your imap folder cache as follows:
1. make sure the user is logged out, i.e.
should not show any more sessions for him.
2. determine the user folder directory, i.e.
3. Go there (the so-called g-directory of the user)
Code: Select all
cd /var/opt/scalix/??/s/user/????????/4. This should have a subdirectory called imap-cache. delete that:
5. Try accessing the user's mailbox using IMAP again.
Thanks,
Subir

Hi again,
I did as you suggested and logged in as the user again. So far the error message hasn't reappeared. If it does I'll post another message here. However, I'm more curious to find out why that problem happened in first place and what caused it. Any ideas?

Hi!
There could be corrupted mail in mailbox, for which the mime.browser could not generate
the mail preview thus the error.
So we first fixed the message store for the user, and then cleared the imap cache.
Thanks,
Subir
deleting imap-cache dosent help with pop3 access. :-(

Hi Manoj!
Does the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file of your client machine have the entry for Scalix Server.
I would suggest you to use Outlook connector, Scalix Connect for Microsoft Outlook
provides transparent, full function support for the Outlook email client on the Linux platform.
It enables connectivity between Outlook and the Scalix Server, and supports the MAPI
protocol for compatibility with the full range of functionality offered by Outlook.
Thanks,
Subir

What is the exact message the POP client is receiving.
I see you said you're running 11.0.1, but there was an issue with POP in 11.0.0. Are you SURE it's 11.0.1?

Hi Manoj!
The Microsoft document at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514 gives you more details on what you can do to debug this.
Also, can you reply to us with what Scalix version you use, reply with the result of the command "rpm -qa | grep scalix", what Outlook version you use?
Do you get any POP3 related error in the fatal log file?
Thanks,
Subir

Upgrading will solve that and a host of other issues. Upgrading would be highly recommended.
If you're running 11.0.0 for Scalix Connect, you should upgrade that too. Ideally, you'd want to recreate the profiles as well, but even just upgrading will be a good thing.
Upgrading is a smooth and easy process. You should be done in about 5-10 mins.
