Hi there,
I have Scalix server 11.0.1 on RHEL 4.0. Two of the users are running russian versions on WinXP SP 2 and Office/Outlook 2003. If I run omtidyallu -M i get for those 2 users:

Trying to resolve this issue I added support for Russian language in /etc/sysconfig/i18n like this:
SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en:ru_RU"
Still Scalix show the Russian users' directories as unreadable characters. Am I missin something or Scalix doesn't fully support i18n?

I know there are some fixes for i18n included with 11.0.2. Can you please give that a try and report back? i18n is supported, but only since 11, so there are some things still being worked out.

First of all, I'd like to know if the folder names appear correctly within Outlook and SWA. If that's the case, the server and I18N support works allright.
The Output of the command is actually affected by the Terminal character set. can you provide the output of
from the same terminal window that you run your omtidyallu command from?
Cheers,
Florian.

Hi Florian,
Yes in Outlook and SWA the folder names show correct.
Here is the ouput from env | egrep 'LANG|LC_':
LANG=en_US

can you try
and see what happens then?
So certainly no reason to worry, internally, everything will be fine. Also, when doing the above, make sure that you're connected through a terminal emulator that supports UTF-8.

Hi Florian,
I tried your suggestion but I still get the unreadable characters for the folder names of the users running Russian WinXP.
