Server extremelly slow

We upgraded last weekend from 10 to 11.0.1.
since then I got a lot of complaints about swa being veeeerryy slow, taking several minutes to load in some cases.
It takes about 5 mins to load inbox, or any other folder with +200 messages.
Load average used to be less than 1.5, now it doesnt go below 4.
CPU is always less than 60% idle, with java and in.imap41d taking 90% of cpu some times.
Is there anywhere I can check for errors? see what's going on?

thanks!

We have found that allocating more memory to the java server has drastically improved the stability of the system just edit the /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/scalix-tomcat.conf and change the jvm line where it said -Xms125m -Xmx125m to a higher value. (we have ours at 384 and we have 4 users and about 6gb of email) and restart the scalix tomcat server

I have 4gb in that system and I allocated 1gb to java:
JAVA_OPTS="-server -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m"

But I dont have any 'upgrade' process running now.
I saw that there is a java 1.5.0_11. did anyone try that?
