Schema installation - Windows 2000 server 32 bits SPANISH

Postby rickymarino » Mon Feb 19, 2007 11:47 am

I'm currently trying to install the schema on a Windows 2000 server 32 bits SPANISH version.
Im logged in as Administrator, I run scalixforestprep --install

Scalix Forest Prep 11.0.0.647
Copyright (c) 2006, Scalix Corporation
Schema will be updated with the Scalix extensions.
Update Successful.

Then i wait for hours and the schema was not installed (scalixforestprep --status)

Scalix Forest Prep 11.0.0.647
Copyright (c) 2006, Scalix Corporation
No Scalix schema extensions have been applied to this directory.
You need to run ScalixForestPrep.exe with the --install switch to update your di
rectory

I need the schema because I dont have other way to create a mailbox from active directory for a user already created. Is there another way? Is this happening because it is a Spanish Windows 2000 server?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, while the GUI module might have some dependencies on the OS language, the actual schema component shoudl not.

Are you sure that, when you execute the forestprep command, you're actually logged in as an admin with Schema Admin rights (this is higher than domain admin!).

also, can you check if the schema has been changed with the AD MMC Schema Edit plugin? Look for attributes/object classes that have names starting with Scalix.

Yes, I do have schema admin rights,

Under Attributes I see: 12 Scalix entries, (none of the properties are marked)
Under Classes I see: scalixuser and scalix group

Thanks in advance.
