When I'm trying to send an email outside my own domain I get this error:

----------------------------- ERROR REPORT ----------------------------- Message could not be delivered to the following recipient:

/ internet
DDT1=RFC-822; DDV1=mail@outsidedomain.nl;

because: 'Recipient name not found at destination' [OM 9300]

Supplementary Information:

550 5.7.1 <mail@outsidedomain.nll>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required.

The message was forwarded to the local Error Manager:
sxadmin / bardoel/CN=sxadmin
------------------------------------------------------------------------

My smtpd.cfg looks like the following:

Code: Select all

# NB Authenticated RELAYs are always allowed
RELAY accept 127.0.0.1
RELAY accept insidedomain.biz
RELAY accept 192.168.120.77
RELAY Log_Reject ALL
RELAY accept 192.168.120.0/255.255.255.0
#AUTH_SUCCESS Accept ALL

# extra rules added to prevent open relay usage
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *@*@*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *%*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *!*
RECIPIENT Log_Reject *#*@*

# The following group sets the configuration for the submission listener
# This listener is only active if SUBMIT=ON is above
# By default it binds to port 587
[SUBMIT]
#LISTEN=localhost:587
# Reject all anonymous connections
ANONYMOUS Log_Reject ALL

# The following group sets the configuration for the lmtp listener
# This listener is only active if LMTP=ON is above
[LMTP]
LISTEN=localhost:24
# Use the following line to listen on a unix domain socket
#LISTEN=~/tmp/lmtp.unix

I cannot find the mistake. Has anyone had this problem before or has anyone a solution? This happens with all the mail to the "outside world"!

What client are you trying to send from?

Also, is your Scalix server setup to send directly to the destination host or are you going through some smarthost setup?

Florian.

From outlook, from thunderbird (direct smtp) en webmail. They all give this error! I configured a smarthost en sendmail, but there is nothing wrong (/var/log/maillog)

hm. what MTA does the error report come from? you posted the error message but left out the headers. If you do a show-message-source when the message comes back and post the full headers we will probably be able to see at what stage the problem happens. I still believe this is about the configuration of your SmartHost, especially if it also happens when you send using Outlook and Scalix Connect (or are you using IMAP?)

Florian.

The headers were showing nothing, so I reinstalled everything and now it works! Thank you for the help 8)
