All,
I've implemented the amavisd-new with the milter as suggested in the HOWTOs on the wiki. However, as it turns out, it is impossible to use mime defanging using the milter. The AM-PDP Protocol that is used to communicate between the two does not support "body replacement" which would be necessary to do this. The author of amavis-milter suggested that I use the "dual sendmail" approach where you have one daemon receiving, forwarding to amavisd-new and then another transmitting. This is crazy overkill considering we already have the Scalix Relay. So, my question is: would it be possible to just have the Scalix Relay point to amavisd-new and then have it forward on to the local sendmail?
Certainly I can try this, but if someone else has done it (or otherwise confirm it's feasability), it could save me a little head-banging against a wall.
Thanks,
Brian
