Bad folder name (trailing space)

I am in the process of migrating a mailstore from Cyrus-IMAP to Scalix using a perl script I found on the internet called imapsync.
Sadly Cyrus supports folder names with trailing spaces. The migrate script has managed to create the folders in Scalix with the trailing space but I cannot select them to read the contents or even rename them. I've tried using Thunderbird and also issuing an IMAP SELECT through telnet with no luck.
Is there a way I can delete the offending folders? I'm prepared to dive into direct IMAP commands if necessary.
thanks
